I build and study robot foundation policies at General Motors, and I am finishing a PhD at Northeastern's RIVeR Lab with Taşkın Padır. I live in Boston.
Robot foundation models are where language models were a few years ago: large, capable, and not well understood. I want to understand them well enough to trust them. That means asking what a policy actually knows about the world and about language, where that knowledge lives inside the network, and how it fails. It means building evaluations that measure what we care about rather than what is easy to score. And it means finding ways to change what a policy does that are more surgical than retraining it.
Lately that work runs through world-action models, which imagine the future before they act, and through the gap between what a model predicts and what it does.
Before GM I was an Applied Scientist at the Boston Dynamics AI Institute, now the RAI Institute, and I interned at Amazon Robotics and Toyota Research Institute. I studied computer engineering at Drexel.

Away from work I ride a Triumph Bonneville T120 around Boston, mostly early, when the city is still quiet. On clear nights I set up a telescope. I speak three languages and am learning two more.
